THE PITCH

This is a simple diagram of the Potball pitch.

EQUIPMENT AND AIM

There are just two players in Potball, one on each team.

The point of the game is to score the most goals in the hour long game.

The potball equipment is as follows;

1. Two hoops or maybe just two drawn circles, one at each end of the pitch.

2. Two flowerpots placed in the center of the hoops a shown on the diagram.

3. Chalk to mark out the center square and the scoring area.

SETTING UP

First, mark out the pitch, center square and scoring area.

Place the hoops at either end of the pitch as shown in the diagram (above).

Put the (empty) flowerpots in the center of the hoops.

BASIC RULES OF POTBALL

Potball is played with a ball about the size of a football, and it doesn't need to be very bouncy.

You can run with the ball in Potball but you can't kick it.

You tackle by knocking the Potball out of the opponent's hands, but physical contact is against the rules.

You score goals by throwing the at the pot. If it falls over, that is one point.

Each game starts in the center square by the ball being bounced. You have to try to catch it.

When someone scores a goal, the game goes to the center square for the center square for the ball to be bounced again.

If someone commits a foul, the ball is given to opposition.

Potball is usually played in quarters; that's four fifteen minute playing periods and a 5 minute break between each quarter.

And finally, remember, if anyone asks - you made this game up!!!
